I started the following piece of writing with a prompt from www.reddit.com
The prompt I chose was: '' A man lives his life three seconds ahead of everyone else.
Three seconds to say goodbey.
At the age of eighty-five my grandpa should have known he wouldn't live much longer. He always kept draiming about what he would do tomorrow, next week and in five years time.
He had just told me he wanted to make a trip to New York by boat, as he used to do as a young man working for the Holland- America line.
Little could he know he that two minutes after that conversation he would die. My grandpa had a gift, he could see what the next three seconds were like. Just when he passed away. He only had three seconds to say goodbey. Before I realised what he said he laid on the floor, dead.
